My cat keeps throwing up white foam and not eating. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 months old

My cat is throwing up. Yesterday we found some of her throw up, we're not sure when she did it we found it around 5pm, it had food in it. The. Around 2am she threw up again, this time it was white foam. Today she threw up white foam again (around 11am). She hasn't been eating much, but she has been drinking. When she does it, it doesn't sound like she's hacking, just gagging. She's about 7 months old and has never three up a hairball either. She is long haired. I'm worried, should I be?

I would recommend having Kit Cat examined by a vet. It sounds like this is quite a bit of vomit over 24 hours. The vet will do an examination and discuss her vaccination history to determine if diagnostics or treatment are necessary.
