Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 25 days old | 15 lbs

My dogs poop, has been fine for pass two days on raw food, he has recently had a change of food from dry to raw food, cause of problems with dry food which was giving him poo that was nearly diarrhoea like poop. His poop has gone from normal to sloppy poop is it normal for that to happen when coming from dry to raw food.

That depends on if he had a slow transition. If he had a slow transition, then diarrhea is unexpected. If you suddenly changed the food, then yes,m diarrhea can be the result. Because dogs can get diarrhea for many reasons, it's impossible to know if the initial cause was related to the diet or not. Raw food is not the best option for every pet and can contain bacteria that can make pets and people sick as well. I recommend to have Loki examined by the veterinarian and have his stool tested for the most common reasons of diarrhea which are worms, giardia and bacterial over growth. I hope he starts feeling better quickly.
