I have 2 cats and within the past two days I’ve found 3 clumps of fecal matter with bright red blood in them. I’m not sure which cat it is since I’ve found them in different litter boxes each time. What should I do?

You have a couple options. 1. Send the bloody stool sample to a lab for testing. If it comes back positive for parasites or bacterial overgrowth you can talk to your vet about just treating all the cats. This way you don’t have to figure out which one it is. Of course, parasites or bacterial overgrowth may not be what is causing the blood..... ( https://www.idexx.com/en/veterinary/fecalchek/ ) 2. This is going to sound crazy but get 3 different color crayons (bright colors) and make some shavings. Feed each cat a small amount of canned food or tuna mixed with the crayon shavings. A different color for each cat. When you see the next bloody stool you can see which color shavings are in the stool and then you’ll know which cat it is. Crayons are non-toxic and not digested so they will just pass right through them. 3. Take all the cats for an exam with your vet. They may be able to tell which cat it is. Personally I’d do option 2. It will be the easiest and least expensive option. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
