Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 24 days old | 40 lbs
Kalina has a growth that has appeared on her lower back right leg, below the hock and right above her paw. Almost looks like where a back Dew claw would grow. It appeared 3 days ago and hasn't grown bigger but has became more of scab. She's a fiesty little girl so she doesn't really want me messing with it too much but it definitely seems to be a slight bother to her. No limping, but I think she has been chewing at it. Could it be a cyst or a benign tumor?

It could be a cyst or a benign tumor. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give Kalina's vet a call in the morning to make her an appointment.
