My dog threw up, isn't eating, and has constipation. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 10 lbs

Yesterday I fed my dog food that she already ate in the past. After a couple of minutes she threw up and she ate it . Recently she has not been to the toilet properly, sometimes she is constipated, and rarely she eats normally. She doesn't eat much I try to feed her but she isn't eating. I am very concerned about her, majority of the time she eats or chews socks, clothing etc and I am very worried. In the images below is the food she threw up.Can you please help me? Thanks

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite and vomiting can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. While this could be due to the new diet, I am concerned that this may also be due to something else. I recommend that you have Zuzia evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
