My cat is sick, lethargic, and won't eat. When should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Burmese | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

My cat vomited 3 times Tuesday. Lethargic but ate normally on Wed. Today- Thurs.- she’s clearly hungry but won’t eat, even after approaching food bowl. Still lethargic. Seems a bit weak. Smacking her lips. Suddenly shaking left paw...a few times this evening. Is still drinking water well. Overall, puny and not herself. 9-10 years old, Burmese??Ragdoll?? Female, spayed. Regularly sees vet. Just received her steroid shot on Friday for allergies. Please advise.

Poor Smudge. It's actually quite serious that she won't eat. If a cat goes long enough without eating, they develop a fatty liver. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment. Please take her into the vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.
