Puppy vomiting, diarrhea, and low energy. When should I call the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Akita | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 29 days old | 9 lbs

My puppy vomited what he ate this morning (7 am) a few minutes ago (6:30 pm) and he did not eat anything else, should I take him to the vet or check tomorrow if he will get better? I just remembered he had diarrhea this morning, which was never this severe before and his energy levels seems a bit lower than usual.

Mild vomiting and diarrhea for 24hrs is quite common and unless he is weak or inactive I would continue to monitor closely. A probiotic and small, bland meals can help recovery and ensure he is kept up to date with deworming medications
