Why does my cat have bad breath, watery eyes, and breathing issues?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 lbs

My cat is currently not feeling well. He has extremely watery eyes, clogged nose (which I've been taking care of with a warm damp cloth) and extremely bad breath. Smells like he ate a dead corpse. His gums aren't as pink as they should be. And he's breathing weird (might be due to the fact he has to breathe through his mouth because of his clogged nose. I know it's not herpes, I've delt with herpes before with him and this is completely different. I'm taking him to a vet but no one near is 24hrs

It could be a combination of of an upper respiratory infection and a tooth disease, the gums look fine so it is less likely to be a gum disease. he needs to see a vet ASAP, there is nothing you can do at home for him i'm afraid.
