Weight loss as you described in a cat Troy's age is usually due to an overactive thyroid (hyperthryoidism). Other possibilities are diabetes and kidney disease just to name a couple. All three of these are very common and can be easily diagnosed with simple blood testing. I suggest you take Troy to your vet for an exam and some blood testing. If it is thyroid disease causing the issue this can be easily and inexpensively treated with medication. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

There could be a number of things wrong with JJ including diabetes, hyperthyroidism, kidney failure, or even cancer causing her symptoms. She needs to see a vet now, please take her into one immediately. That is the only way to diagnose what is causing her symptoms, and possible treatments.

Hmm. My first thought is that Sissy may be developing hyperthyroidism, which is very common and very treatable. Often owners notice weight loss, increased hunger, and drinking/peeing more frequently. You should schedule a visit with your veterinarian to do complete blood work including a thyroid test and urinalysis. Good luck!

In senior cats, there are a few conditions that can cause a cat to eat a lot, drink more, and yet lose weight. This includes diabetes, kidney failure, and hyperthyroidism. All three are common in senior cats. I would have Patches seen by a vet first thing Monday morning for a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis. These tests will help the vet diagnose what is causing his symptoms and how best to treat them. I hope this helps!
