Refusing to use the litter box can be due to a number of things. A good first step is to bring Snuggles to the vet to rule out any health issues such as urinary tract infections which can cause accidents around the house. If she checks out healthy, other things to look for include the location of the box (is it somewhere out of the way? Away from other pets or people?), the number of boxes (there should be 2 or more for each cat in the household to avoid overcrowding or blocking use of boxes), and litter type (some cats have litter preferences such as clay or paper depending on how it feels on their paws). Moving the box to a quiet place, changing its size, adding in another, or slowly transitioning to a new type of litter may all help.
