Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 13 lbs
Tiny ate a small piece of a robe at 6:00pm, maybe a little bigger than the size of a fish gravel, he started coughing, he ate grass. And took a poop, which looked healthy, he also ate dog food and drank water. He’s acting perfectly normal, running around, playing with our other dog, no coughing. Do you think this will pass? It is now 6:57pm.

A small piece of fabric should pass on its own in a day or so. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or straining to defecate. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian.

Hello. Just like the previous expert said, a small piece of cloth should pass with no problems. It is too late to induce vomiting, so to aid smooth passage of the material, you can take a piece of bread & place a thin layer of Vaseline on it. Feed this to Tiny a piece at a time. This will bulk up & lubricate his stool to make sure the cloth passes with no problems. If, over the next 3-4 days, Tiny experiences any lethargy, bloating, loss of appetite, protracted vomiting, or signs of abdominal pain, see your veterinarian immediately. But I truly believe Tiny will be fine. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
