Why is my dog's dry cracked nose getting worse after vet treatment?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 9 months old | 85 lbs

My dogs severely dry cracked nose is getting worse. The steroid antibiotic the vet prescribed a month ago didn’t help. What is this? He looks miserable :(

I'm sorry to hear that! Poor Toa, that does look sore. It may be that this is something like discoid lupus. https://dermvettacoma.com/discoid-lupus/ He may need a combination of oral and topical medications to help. Some of these dogs do well with niacinamide (B3 vitamin) and tetracycline (a prescription medication) .
