My chihuahua woke up with a swollen face and eye. Is it an allergy?

My dog woke up with a swollen mouth and now her eye is swollen. She is a chihuahua. She did not eat anything different she did not go outside yet this morning to have been stung and she did not do anything different from last night to this morning she just woke up and she was swollen. and I need help because I don’t know what to do. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

I am sorry that we did not get to your question sooner! I hope that Mia is feeling and looking much better. It sure looks like she had an allergic reaction. We often don't know what has caused it, no matter how hard we try to figure it out! If that happens again, you can give Benadryl at home, here is an article with info including dosing information. https://www.petcoach.co/pet-medication/benadryl/ If she isn't improving within 1 hour of giving Benadryl, or if she continues to get worse, take her to a vet.
