Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My budgie looks like he has a very tiny growth appearing just down and slightly to the left of his beek. His feathers are displaced a bit and there's what looks like a small brown crusty spot. What do I need to do please

Without an image, we can only provide very general advice. If he is behaving normally, you can monitor it at home. Watch for rapid change or growth, discharge or bleeding. Loose droppings, lethargy and loss of appetite are also symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian. If he is not behaving normally or if the growth is painful or interferes with eating, then he should be physically examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian sooner rather than later.
