My outdoor cat has a bump after a fight. Is it an abscess? Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 2 years old

My cat likes to go outside and sometimes even fight with other cats. Today she came home with a bump on her left. I am not sure what is it? Anyone knows?

It's probably an abscess from a fight, you will need to take her to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked, if it is an abscess indeed the vet will need to sedate her, shave the area and lance the abscess to remove all the pus that gathered inside. she will also need an antibiotic injection.
