She showed up to a colony about a month ago and feeder said she would eat so much but seemed to be losing weight. On March 10th she stopped eating altogether...I went 5 days after she stopped eating to trap. Took to the vet and only thing was her liver enzymes slightly above normal, said likely be from not eating.got convenia and sent home with an app stim. She ate for 2 days then went jaundice. Shes been hospitalized since. Bilirubin was 1.9 and now 2.6. No longer jaundice but still not eating.

Hello. This looks like cholangitis, or inflammation of the biliary tree. Basically, bacteria has gotten into & colonized the gall bladder & its surrounding ducts. I am actually surprised that she is still not jaundiced, but if she is on IV fluids, this might be helping quite a bit. Treatment is fluids, antibiotics, steroids like prednisolone & ursodeoxycholic acid ( Actigall ), & antioxidant supplements such as SAMe & Vit. E. Prognosis is good with aggressive care. I hope she does well. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
