Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 6 lbs
My cat seems to have a rash on her stomach, it looks like red bumps. It’s hard to get a good look at it because she doesn’t stay still for long, but she has been licking at it. She is three years old & was adopted from a shelter 5 months ago. She is strictly indoor and has been eating the same food for the last 5 months. There are no other pets in the home. The hair on her stomach never fully grew back after her spay which is why there is less hair in that area. What should I do? Thank you!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lennie. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. After her examination, her veterinarian will discuss likely causes of her skin disease such as allergies, infectious causes, autoimmune disease or over grooming. Sometimes skin tests are recommended for a diagnosis. Based on these results, her veterinarian can make treatment recommendations. She may need antibiotics if a bacterial infection is present. If she is itchy, steroids can be used for her comfort. I hope this information helps!
