Oscar’s dandruff could be due to seasonal allergies, a food not high enough in fatty acids or fats, or hormonal changes as he is aging. Two brands of dog food are better for dogs with dandruff and these are Nutro and Royal Canin. You may try switching him to these diets and it will take about a month to take affect. You can also start him on an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs and this will also help in about a month. Bathing him in an oatmeal type shampoo will help to moisturize the skin as well. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
