My cat has diarrhea after neuter surgery. Is it food or recovery?

New 2 year old cat. 4 days ago he was nuetered. He is eating fine but today has diahrea. Is it his food or from the surgery.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach - and thank you for having your cat neutered! The diarrhea could be from his recent surgery. It could also be related to a diet change, or something such as intestinal parasites. I recommend keeping your cat's diet constant and monitoring for resolution of the diarrhea over the next week. If after 4-5 days his stool is still very soft, I recommend bringing a sample of his stool to your veterinarian who can analyze it for parasites. If your cat ever becomes lethargic, or doesn't want to eat or drink, he should be seen by your vet sooner. I hope this is helpful!
