My dog's phenobarbital side effects are getting worse. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 14 years and 11 months old | 30 lbs

My dog has been on phenobarbital for 6 days he is on 60mg half morning half night he is suffering with most of the sides effects and they are getting worse

I would recommend speaking to your vet about putting Benson on a different anti seizure medication that has less side effects. Also, dependent on the side effects that you are seeing, having him rechecked to make sure they are drug related not disease related side effects. Consultation with a neurologist is also an option if your vet is not comfortable with other medications for seizure control.
