My cat has loose stool but is eating fine. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 7 lbs

My cat has loose stool since two days, he’s eating fine and has been taking his milk and water intake but going to the pot again and again. The stool is runny and brown in color and in small amounts. I have also changed his diet to boiled chicken and giving him some ORS.

This diarrhoea is likely to be caused by dietary indiscretion. Milk should be avoided. Continue to give boiled chicken and rice in small portions for the next 72hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
