Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Trudy! Oh that's not good she ate all that chocolate and sugar. The good news is that white chocolate isn't toxic to dogs, but it does cause GI upset which you are seeing. The same for the sugar. I can give a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Luckily white chocolate does not contain as much of the substances that can be toxic to dogs (Caffeine and theobromine) as can be found in other types of chocolate. Based on Trudy's weight, and an average size package of white chocolate chips (225 grams) this should hopefully not be a significant health problem. If vomiting continues, diarrhea develops, or you notice a decrease in appetite or energy, I recommend you have Trudy seen by a vet.
