My cat is hissing at the new kitten. How can I introduce them safely?

Hi I bought a Bengal Kitten on Tuesday. I introduced him to my fantastic lovely gentle and kind cat Toffy. On Tuesday when she saw him she hissed and her tail fluffed. She then hid away. We gave her love and attention to comfort her. We retuned the kitten to his room. He wants to come out and explore but I don’t know how my cat will react. I brang then both to the living room today No hissing but ran away that’s what toffy did. The kitten was in a carrier. Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 7 days old | 1lb

This is normal behavior and does not mean that they may not eventually become friends. Make sure to continue to give your adult cat quiet time away from the kitten. Try to exercise the kitten before putting them together so he will be less inclined to harass her. Make sure the cats don’t bully each other. Also don’t force them to be together.
