My cat has a cold, but is very sick. Could it be cat flu?

my cat chip is sick. we adopted a new kitten from the shelter. she is fixed. had a hernia surgery shortly after being home and came home sneezing. well we took her to the vet and they said she just had a cold and sent us home with some gel for both of our cats. so our male cat chip is sneezing. but he looks like he’s taking it a lot worse. running nose. sneezing a lot. sleeping. not eating as much. just over all looks so sick. the vet said it’s just a cold and to let them both recover. help. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 7 lbs

You need to take him back ti the vet, he will need to have a course of antibiotics in order to get better. this is most likely cat flu and it can be fatal if left untreated, take him to the vet ASAP.
