Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Female | unspayed
Princess has developed a bald spot behind her left ear. It is reddish pink in color. I was wondering if the cause may be that Lady, her cage mate, has been biting her or something? They are both Roborovski Hamsters from the same litter and have never had any problems, but we just noticed the bald spot and aren't always around to watch their interactions. Any help is good help at this point, we just want to know the cause and treatment so our little girl can be healthy again.

It could be due to "barbering" by the other hamster. This can be due to dominance or aggression. It can also be cause by infection (bacterial, fungal or parasites). You can separate them to see if the hair begins to grow back or you can have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose and treat any infection. In the meantime, clean and sanitize the cage, bowls, toys and hides. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Keep them as stress free as possible.
