My cat has soft bloody poop sometimes. What's wrong and what to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 10 lbs

My cat keeps pooping like this. Not all the time, but I'm assuming it's not normal. He's impregnated a lot of other cats, and he seems to be in no pain. What is this?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cat. He appears to be having soft stool with traces of blood in it. There a variety of factors that can cause this to occur. He will need to see his veterinarian. He will be examined and fecal testing performed. He should be evaluated for parasitic, bacterial and viral infections. Depending on these results, modifications may be made to his diet. I hope this information helps!
