My cat only eats wet food and drinks a lot after flu. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 4 months old | 8 lbs

Buddy has been sick since last week. I am pretty sure cat flu as I nursed him through it as a kitten. He has finally started eating and drinking on his own. This afternoon he did first solid poo and wee, outside and actually ran. At this stage he is more drinking than eating and when does eat only eats wet food. Is this normal?

Yes, this can be normal. When cats are have flu, they become congested and can't smell their food. If they can't smell their food, they won't eat. Wet food is smellier than dry food, which would be why Buddy is eating that only. Try gently heating some really smelly wet food like fish or sardine based to see if he will eat more of it. I hope this helps.
