My dog has white chalky poop and isn't eating. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 9 days old

My dog has been passing a soft white chalky like stool. I caught her a few days ago eating my cat's food. But I'm not sure if it's the cat food or the brand of dog food i changed her to, but I'm very concern about her because she is not eating drinking or interacting like she use to. My question is what can be the problem and is there anything that I can give her to make feel better

This type of stool is usually related to a lack of pigment produced by the liver. Pancreatic problems can cause this presentation as well. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
