Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 30 lbs
My dog has been having anal gland leakage for almost a year on and off, we take him to the vet and our groomer to get his expressed, but even a week after he still has small amounts of leakage around the house, all our vet says is it is normal, but I do not want to deal with this for the rest of his life, he is only 2. We use pumpkin in his food and use acana ranchland, some days he has big stools but should we see another vet or stuff we can do at home?

Anal glands could be possibly infected and chronically impacted and they may need to be flushed and possibly treated with antibiotics. Persistent anal gland secretion and impaction without infection can be resolved surgically by removing the gland if medical treatment is not effective.
