My chihuahua has a tiny blue lump by her nipple. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 8 years old | 8 lbs

My chihuahua has a tiny lump under her skin next to her bottom left nipple. It has a little tint of blue in it. She eats normally and stayed the same and the lump hasn’t gotten bigger. In the pictures it’s kind of hard to tell that there’s a lump there but there is.

If it is a lump I highly recommend taking her to a veterinarian. If it is a lump it can be a mammary mass and there can be a 50% chance of malignancy with them. If this is the case, chest xrays and removal and biopsy are necessary. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
