Cats can get darkish colored crusts in the eyes. This can be normal. You should look for other signs of illness like redness to the sclera and conjunctiva of the eye, squinting the eyes, yellow or green discharge, rubbing the eyes, excessive watery tearing of the eyes or sneezing and nasal discharge. If you don’t see any other signs of illness, this is likely normal. If you see signs of illness or if you can’t tell, have your cat seen by the veterinarian. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions!
