Safe low-fat, low-calorie fruits & veggies for my dog's diet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 5 years and 5 months old | 11 lbs

My dog recently changed to a low fat low calorie diet due to some tummy issues per the vet and her wet food is now only green peas and peas which she is getting tired of and looking almost sad she is a major foodie is there any other fruits and veggies that won’t cause extra Weight gain that I could also give at times either with food or as treats?

I would give minimal fruits as they are high in sugar. You can try broccoli, carrots, green beans, spinach, etc. You mainly want to stay away from too many carbs and fruit. Also, stay away from garlic, avocado, grapes, raisins, and onions - these are toxic. I hope this helps!
