My cat's abscess burst. Will the open wound heal or need stitches?

My cat had an abscess filled with pus on its chest. now it is just an open wound. will it close on its own or do i need to have it stitched up?

Hello. Chances are this is a cat bit abscess & we rarely stitch these up. You can clean the area a couple of times daily using Hibicles, available at all pharmacies, but I do not recommend putting any medications or ointments on the wound. He will just lick it off. It will take some time to heal, but if it is just not doing well, then see your vet for additional treatments.
