My spayed dog is bloated but acting normal. Is puppy food the cause?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 6 years old

Hay my spayed dog is very bloated she's 7 years old. She's dosnt seem in any discomfort and has toileted today as normal and is looking for her food. I get her a little bit this morning but have left her evening meal out just in case we need to go to vets. She did pinch some puppy food yesterday do u think this could be the course? Thank you

There are many possible causes for abdominal bloating and a vet check would be recommended if this increases over 1-2hours or if it persists for longer than 24hours or if any panting/weakness/vomiting develops. Ultrasound exam for fluid from heart/liver disease and xrays may be recommended to investigate underlying causes
