Why is my dog's pee bright yellow? Is it a sign of a problem?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 21 lbs

My 3 year old Chih/beagle mix has bright yellow urine. She eats Blue Buffalo Chicken with Stella & Chevys meal mixers.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Cheezy. The color of a dog's urine will vary with their hydration status. So the less water she has consumed, the darker yellow her urine will be. This could be normal for her assuming she is not straining to urinate, going more frequently or having accidents in the house. These could be signs of another problem such as a urinary tract infection. If you are concerned, I would have her veterinarian perform a urinalysis to rule out any other disease.
