My cat's eye is scratched, swollen, tearing after escape. What to do?

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 8 lbs

My cat accidentally escaped yesterday. She returned with what looks like a scratch near her lower eye lid. May a scratch on her eye. It is slightly swollen and tearing a bit. Advise?

The best thing to do is take her to a vet since it is so close to her eye. If the scratch affected the eye itself it can result in vision damage if it goes untreated. IF the swelling is just from the skin, then it can form an abscess and cause an infection to make her stop eating. You can try to gently wipe the area with a damp cloth to keep it clean. You can rinse the eye with saline eye drops to help with the discharge. You can apply a warm compress to help with swelling also until you can get her seen
