My dog ate a chocolate covered raisin. Is it dangerous? What to do?

My dog just ate 1 chocolate covered raisin. Will he be alright??

These are tough situations. The chocolate probably isn't a big concern, but it's the raisin I'm more worried about, for their potential to cause kidney failure in dogs. My best recommendation to you at this point is to seek emergency care. If it's only been an hour, it's likely that inducing vomiting cause Max to bring up the raisin, and no further problems will result. Unfortunately, we don't understand the toxic dose of raisins (or grapes) in dogs, and we don't even know what it is in them that causes kidney failure. I'd try to get it out of him now. The vet can give a medication to make him vomit quickly and safely.
