My guinea pig was weak and falling over. Why is he still sneezing?

A few months ago I got home from church and I went to give Fluff a carrot, and he wouldn’t eat it or even move, he didn’t even run when I went to pick him up. So I put him by his bowl, and he kept falling over. I rapped him in a towel and put him in his little carrier with a carrot. He slowly started eating and moving around. He sneezes quite a bit. He is back to his normal self and seems perfect healthy besides the sneezing. We couldn’t take him to the vet. What could it have been? He is alive.

Thanks for reaching out about Fluff. A respiratory infection (possible pneumonia) can cause weakness and nasal discharge (sneezing). Heart and dental diseases are also fairly common in quinea pigs. If the clinical signs recur, a veterinary visit is recommended for a diagnosis and treatment plan. Good luck.
