My English Bulldog left blood on the floor. Why is his paw bleeding?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Male | neutered | 3 years and 11 months old | 80 lbs

We were eating lunch and found blood on the floor. When we look at Stitz (our English Bulldog) he was licking his paw and that’s where we found this.

Ouch, that looks like it hurts. This could be a foreign body trying to be expelled with infection or an inflammatory reaction. It would be best to have that examined by a veterinarian. In the meantime you can soak the paw in a warm epsom salt solution for 10 minutes at a time about three times daily. This should help with pain.
