My dog ate a rib bone, acting normal. Should I worry or call the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Female | spayed | 60 lbs

My dog ate a rib bone, what can I do? It was like an inch by an inch .will it pass or do I have to do something? She is acting normal.

You will have to watch Raine closely. Do NOT induce vomiting, it's never recommended to do that in these cases. Hopefully it will pass without problem, but there is a chance it could splinter in the GI tract if it was a cooked bone leading to perforation of the intestines, or it could cause an obstruction. You could take her into a vet immediately, and if they have an endoscope, they could potentially remove it from her stomach. Otherwise, monitor her for signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the feces, anorexia, and/or lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take her into a vet immediately. It can take a couple of days before this bone passes. Best of luck.
