My cat pees frequently after moving. Bladder infection? Can I wait?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 8 lbs

I think my cat, a 2 year old male un-neutered, but indoor only and has never met a female, has a bladder infection. He's been peeing in the sink. No blood but frequently and small amounts. We just moved and I do not drive. I would like to take him to Petco across the street from me to see a vet but they are not available till Dec 15th. He seems fine in every way, doesn't seem sick or in pain. Can I safely wait that long to have him seen? Can I give him anything OTC or try Apple Cider vinegar?

If he is urinating frequently but without pain or blood this may be related to the house move and stress causing urinary tract inflammation and discomfort. There are over the counter tonics which can help with such stress and anxiety as well as pheromone diffusers. Wet food and putting down multiple water bowls and litter trays can help to improve fluid intake and may find a more appropriate area for him to toilet!
