Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 years and 4 months old | 58 lbs
I have a 3yo deaf pitbull. I rescued her in July. The first food I had her on made her throw up every morning. I put her on a bland food diet, and that stopped it. I then tried a new food, and now she has very abrupt diarrhea (not all the time, sometimes it’s solid, by at least once a day). I even tried to mix it with cooked white rice but it hasn’t helped. She isn’t lethargic, and she still has an appetite. What should I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. Because of the possibility of this being related to a food sensitivity, you can try to feed her a sensitive stomach commercial diet to see is this improves. If no improvement is noted, I recommend that you have Baby evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications for diarrhea depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
