Why is my 4-week-old kitten peeing blood and not urinating normally?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 28 days old | 0.77 lbs

My 4 week old orphan (bottle fed) kitten is giving me cause for concern today. She has not peed on two occasions after feeding and after the most recent feeding she peed but only stained the cotton a bit in a slightly pink tone with visible traces of blood. She has been eating normally throughout. She weighs351 grams and is being fed 12ml reconstituted formula Royal Canin Babycat every 3-4 hours, also taking a 1/4 packet of FortiFlora daily. Please advise, the vet clinics are closed Sundays

These signs are quite concerning and possibly an infection is present (urinary most likely). On Monday I would recommend an immediate check up to confirm this clinical suspicion and antibiotics may be needed.
