My pigeon isn't eating, moving, and has green droppings. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My juvenile pigeon is not eating, neither drinking nor moving. Droppings are quite green. What could be the reason?

Without an exam it would be hard to tell. Changes in stool color can indicate a number of things including parasites, infections, or even organ dysfunction such as liver disease (certain illnesses such as Chlamydiosis can cause this). If your bird is not eating or drinking anything it is best to seek out veterinary care ASAP. Keeping it warm and separated from the flock to avoid the spread of any illnesses may help, as well as continuing to offer food and water until you can see your vet.
