Why is my cat's face swollen with a spreading lump and tiny eyes?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 years old

My cat has a lump on her forehead and I left it for six hours. When I came back to check it had just gotten worse and spread to her nose where it swelled her front face up making her eyes tiny. What happened?

This could be due to an acute allergic reaction or possibly an infection (abscess). An immediate check up would be required to confirm one of these clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. Giving the fact that the swelling is rapidly spreading I would recommend to have her checked as soon as possible.
