My dog ate a few M&M's. Is a small amount of chocolate dangerous?

Our 20 lb dog just ate one, maybe two M&M’s chocolate candies that she found in a trash can. Each is about the size of a dime or smaller. Is this dangerous?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This dose of chocolate may cause mild symptoms including agitation, vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. If these are observed and they persist, I recommend you have Asha evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck!
