My puppy vomited twice, but seems fine. Do I need to see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | 2 months and 17 days old

My puppy had vomited once on Monday and once last night. It is now Wednesday. He is still eating and drinking, his poo is normal and he doesn't behave any different.

Hello, thank you for your question about Koda. I would recommend conintuing to monitor Koda if he is otherwise acting normally. Vomiting can be a sign of mild GI upset secondary to ingesting something abnormal. If at any time Koda develops inappetance or lethargy I would then recommend consulting with your veterinarian. Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting can be observed with gastroenteritis, parvovirus, dietary indiscretion, food sensitivity, foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include abdominal imaging and general bloodwork. You could try a bland diet composed mainly of boiled chicken and white rice which is easily digestible and can help with an upset stomach. Good luck and have a great day!
