My cat is sneezing a lot. Should I worry or is it just allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 3 months old | 10 lbs

She keeps sneezing 2 much this is her 3rd day like this. the # if sneezes has increased a lot. She keeps liking her nose.no nose discharge, I swipe her nose and nothing is there. No diarrhea, she eats normal. No drooling. Do i need to take her to a vet or will this go away on its own? She is an indoor only cat so a virus from another cat couldn't have happened. What could cause her to sneeze so much? My boyfriend is sneezing a lot to he has allergies.Could she have allergies to dust like him?

This is probably an upper respiratory infection. it's very common in young cats and is very contagious to other cats as well. It is treated with oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks. if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease. I advise going to your vet asap to start the treatment right away.
