How often does a nine week old puppy sleep? I've had her for about a week and at first she was pretty active in between her naps but her naps were never really restful. Any little noise or movement would wake her. The last couple of days she has been sleeping more. If it's normal I don't want an emergency vet visit since the earliest they can see her is monday when she already has an appointment for her 2nd vaccines.

First of all, congratulations on your new puppy, Raina! To answer your question, it is probably just fine that she is sleeping more now that she's adjusted to your home as her new environment. As she gets older, she will probably be eating better and getting more nutrition, which in turn will help her sleep more soundly. If she is eating and drinking well, doesn't have any vomiting or diarrhea, and is playing normally in between her naps (like she isn't lethargic or depressed when she's awake),or coughing or sneezing, I'd just monitor her for now. Since she is so young, I'd definitely have her examined if she is showing any signs of illness. Otherwise, I'd expect her to be doing a lot of napping and eating for her first few months of life. I hope you find this answer helpful. Best of luck!
