I am so sorry to hear about Mugsy. I would recommend getting him to the vet immediately with these symptoms. There are a number of possible causes for bleeding from the nose/mouth, including a bleeding disorder (which can have a number of causes including ingestion of rodent poisons and immune disorders), trauma, and bleeding tumors or masses. The safest course of action is to get him in to the vet immediately so they can examine him and get him started on treatment as some of these conditions can be life threatening.
